Tutorials

Testing2.0 – agile testing in practice

In this full day tutorial the attendees will learn:

  • what critical values and principles there are in agile testing
  • how a tester effectively performs his testing and collaborates in an agile team
  • what the customer’s role is and how you can facilitate
  • how to effectively collaborate as a team

All topics are presented in an interactive format, with exercises, group discussions and demos of tools. The basis of our vision on agile testing lies in a set of critical values: Collaboration, Feedback, Simplicity, Flexibility. These are supported by 12 principles that guide the testing process. From there we define ‘Testing as a Team’:

  • How to involve the whole team in testing
  • How to use a Definition of Done as a guide for all testing actitvities
  • How to create ‘collective test ownership’

We will discuss the agile tester’s role on the team based on 5 statements. From there we will focus on the everyday test activities. This shall lead us to a profile of the ‘Tester2.0’. Then we take on the customer’s role in agile testing – which we believe is extremely important in agile testing. We will explain agile acceptance testing, and how it can be performed throughout the iteration. We will relate it to requirements, acceptance criteria and multiple stakeholders.

In the section (non-)technical tools for testers we will explain ‘agile test techniques’; we made (formal) test techniques fit for purpose for use in an agile context. Thus we have tools for applying and sharing testing knowledge.
